Brief Description:

This course  covers matrices and systems of linear equations which includes definitions, notation, operations with matrices and their properties, special elementary matrices, and elementary operations, row-echelon form, Gaussian and Gauss-Jordan eliminations, homogenous systems and inverse of a matrix. This course spends time studying determinants, properties of determinant and its applications. Vector spaces and subspaces, spanning sets, row and column spaces, inner product spaces, and Gram-Schmidet orthogonalization. Study of linear transformations, kernel, range, Eigenvalues, Eigenvectors are also among the topics in this course.

 
Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of Math 262.
Required Materials: 1) Textbook: Elementary Linear Algebra, Sixth edition

                      by Larson & Falvo
