Brief Description:

This is the third course in Calculus sequence. It covers vectors, geometry of space, operations with vectors such as dot product, cross product, equations of lines and planes in space. Study of vector functions, and space curves, derivative, integration of vector functions with study of arc length and curvature. Functions of several variables, limits and continuity of such functions, partial derivatives, study of chain rules, directional derivatives, gradient vectors, with in depth study of maximum and minimum values of functions of several variables with use of LaGrange multiplier's method. Applications of double and triple integrals and use of polar, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates in addition to change of variables method. Study of vector fields, line and surface integral. In depth study of curl, divergence in addition to Green's theorem, Stokes' theorem, and Divergence theorem.   

 

Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of Math 262.
Required Materials: 1) Textbook: Calculus ,5th edition By Stewart
